Here's what you need to make positive changes happen with girls and women...

IT WORKS!!!
YWCA Durham in Ontario, Canada has been successfully holding workshops for girls since our initial training and certification in 2002!

Check out Girls' Evaluations from Durham!
The best part is knowing we're not alone. I chose this as the best thing because before I felt no one else was feeling the way I felt. I think everyone should find their true self.
I would tell my friends to come to the GSO program because it helped me to see that I don't need to be cute to be somebody and I want my friends to understand that, too.
It was fun and informative. You get helpful advice and confidence to be yourself.
I can't think of anything else I want to talk about. I think all my questions were covered.
On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being scared and 10 being perfectly safe), I'd say 10. I felt like I could be myself, and I wasn't nervous.
The readings sort of taught me I could stand up for myself.
AND THIS IS ME NOW.

All our Training and Certification is Individualized
In response to requests from women and organizations, Andrea developed a train-the-trainers program to certify adult organizers, leaders and trainers of Girls Speak Out program workshops for circles of girls ages 7 and up. Andrea currently participates in in-person and long-distance trainings to certify individuals, organizations, schools and groups worldwide.

The training includes strategies, activities and research in its curricula that is based on our two-workshop program and individualized to meet your needs; our Train-the-Trainers handbook is an overview and compilation of lessons taught and learned in workshops and meetings with experts on child development and gender. Activities and topics are tailored to meet your girls' needs as we expand upon the Handbook and help you create your own program, which is one key to our success.

If you want to improve your relationship with girls, including your own girlhood, and as a mentor, mother, family member, supporter or if you work and/or live with girls as a teacher or tribal/community member, we have individualized and group training programs and workshops that value and incorporate your ideas, feelings, history and beliefs.

If you want to offer your own Girls Speak Out Worldwide workshops as an individual or as part of your organization, then our Train-the-Trainers Certification process can enable you to make it happen no matter where you live.

Why? Here's a proven way to improve girls' lives that has lifetime benefits. BTW, you will find new ways to make your life happier when you join us.

What do you learn? You learn why we do what we do, what we do--our content-and how we do it--our strategies and follow-up. You also learn organizing and parenting/mentoring skills.

What does it cost? We have a sliding scale depending on your experience, affiliations, intended use and plans for workshops. Installment payments can be arranged. No one is turned away for financial reasons.

Step-by-step Certification entitles you to offer workshops to ongoing groups and, if you choose, to train others using our name, materials and activities.
